Connect Your Domain to Your AICOM Site

Your AICOM team built your store on Lovable. Pick the easiest path below to point your custom domain at it. Pick whichever fits your setup.
What we need from you We need to connect your custom domain (e.g. yourstore.com) to the Lovable project we built. There are 3 ways to do this — pick whichever fits. Path 1 is easiest for you, Path 3 gives us the most flexibility.

Path 1: Add 2 DNS Records Yourself

Easiest · ~5 minutes · You stay in full control
Just add 2 records in your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.). You stay in full control of your domain. Best for most clients.
  1. We'll send you 2 records to add
    • Your AM will send you something like this:

    • The exact values are unique to your project — your AM will provide them.
  2. Open your domain registrar
  3. Add the A record
    • Click Add record (or "+ Add" or "Add new")
    • Type: A
    • Name (or Host): @ (this means root domain)
    • Value (or Points to): the IP from your AM
    • TTL: Auto or 3600
    • Save
  4. Add the TXT record
    • Click Add record again
    • Type: TXT
    • Name: _lovable-verification (or whatever your AM specified)
    • Value: the verification string from your AM
    • Save
  5. Tell us it's done
    • Reply to your AM: "DNS records added."
    • Within 30 minutes to 24 hours, your domain will go live (DNS propagation takes time).

Path 2: Give Us DNS Access via Cloudflare

Medium · ~10 minutes · You move DNS to Cloudflare (free)
Best if you'd rather not touch DNS records yourself. You move DNS management to Cloudflare (free), then add us as a member with DNS-only edit access.
  1. Sign up for Cloudflare (free)
  2. Add your domain
    • Click Add a site
    • Enter your domain (e.g. yourstore.com)
    • Choose the Free plan
    • Cloudflare will scan your existing DNS records and import them
    • Cloudflare will give you 2 nameservers (e.g. kim.ns.cloudflare.com, walt.ns.cloudflare.com)
  3. Update nameservers at your registrar
    • Go to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.)
    • Find Nameservers or DNS settings
    • Replace existing nameservers with the 2 from Cloudflare
    • Save (this can take up to 24 hours to propagate)
  4. Invite AICOM as a member
    • In Cloudflare → Manage Account → Members
    • Click Invite Members
    • Enter your AM's email (provided by AICOM)
    • Select role: DNS (NOT Administrator — DNS-only is enough)
    • Send invite
  5. We handle the rest
    • We'll set up the DNS records, verify the domain in Lovable, and confirm with you when it's live.

Path 3: Give Us Nameserver-Level Control

Fastest for AICOM · ~5 minutes · Zero involvement after
Same as Path 2, but instead of Cloudflare, you point your nameservers directly at AICOM-managed nameservers. Use this only if you have NO email or other services on the domain.
  1. Get our nameservers
    • Your AM will send you 2 AICOM-managed nameservers (e.g. ns1.aicommerce.co, ns2.aicommerce.co)
  2. Update nameservers at your registrar
    • Replace existing nameservers with the 2 from AICOM
  3. We take it from here
    • We manage all DNS for you. Live within 30 minutes to 24 hours.
⚠️ Important This means we control DNS for your entire domain. If you have email or other services on this domain, you must tell us so we can preserve those records. Don't choose this path if you have email on your domain unless you're comfortable.

📋 Frequently Asked

Will my site go down during the switch?
If your domain is currently pointing somewhere else (old site, parked page), there will be brief downtime as DNS propagates (usually under 1 hour, max 24 hours). We can schedule the switch for off-hours if that matters.
Will my email (e.g. you@yourstore.com) keep working?
Path 1: Yes — we only touch the records we send you. Your MX records (email) stay.
Path 2: Yes — Cloudflare imports all your existing records automatically.
Path 3: Tell us in advance so we can preserve your MX records.
Do I need to buy SSL? Will it be HTTPS?
No. Lovable issues a free SSL certificate automatically once the domain connects. Usually takes under 1 hour after DNS propagates. Your site will be HTTPS by default.
What if my domain is at a weird registrar (Wix, Squarespace, etc.)?
All registrars allow DNS edits. The interface is different — search YouTube for "[your registrar] add A record" if you get stuck. Or pick Path 2 (Cloudflare) — you'll be more comfortable there.
Can I revoke access later?
Path 1: Just delete the DNS records. Site goes offline immediately.
Path 2: Remove AICOM from Cloudflare members. We lose access immediately.
Path 3: Change nameservers back to your registrar's. We lose all DNS access within 24 hours.
I already have a different site at this domain — will this replace it?
Yes. Once DNS points to Lovable, your old site at this domain is no longer reachable. Tell us before you start so we can coordinate timing.
What if I don't own a domain yet?
Easiest: Buy directly inside Lovable's domain marketplace (your AM can do this for you).
Cheapest: Buy from Namecheap or Cloudflare Registrar (~$10/year for .com), then follow Path 1.
